English winger Dan Luger's tour is over , the 26 year old sustained a double fracture to his eye socket following a training ground collision with Neil Back .

Back said of the accident "Dan's a great bloke and I really regret the collision . The sun was low in the sky, we homed in on the ball and our heads banged together . I think my head caught his on the left side of his face."

Luger's demise could see rugby league convert Jason Robinson ascend the ladder to a test place unless the Lions coaches opt to move Iain Balshaw from full back to the wing . Watch this space .

No luck Kenny Logan , Luger's place will be taken by Ireland's Tyrone Howe . It's not a name I'm familiar with , I know he's 30 years old , been capped six times and scored 3 tries .

Why the hell Catt went in the first place is beyond me , he was carrying an injury before the squad flew out he didn't last the first half against Australia A , nuff said .

Welsh centre Scott Gibbs (right) will fly out to join the squad , his omission from the original squad came as a huge shock to most pundits . Gibbs will give the Lions a more physical edge if they need it . He will find it difficult trying to oust Henderson , O'Driscoll or Greenwood from a likely test pairing but he'll be there just in case they slip up .

Phil Greening's tour could be over before its even started , the England and Wasps hooker injured his knee in training . If he has to quit the tour Scotland's Gordon Bulloch could be given the nod to fly out bringing the Scottish head count up to four .

Gordon was unlucky not to be picked in the original touring squad but he would jump at the chance to join them now . That said he will play second fiddle to Irish hooker Keith Wood .

Knee trouble has plagued Greening all season , it was operated on last year . Strangely his injury woes were not considered when the squad was named .

Great news for Scottish rugby , it has been confirmed Gordon will join up with the Lions touring squad . He will cut short a holiday in America to fulfill his dream . Gordon said " It's every players dream to represent their country and the Lions and now I'm getting the opportunity to do both " .

Simon Taylor injured...

Simon Taylor will undergo a scan later today to try and discover the extent of the damage to his knee . The young Scot showed up well in his second half appearance against Western Australia and it will be a bitter blow if he has to miss the rest of the tour . England's Martin Corry has been called into the squad .
